Tiff’s Treats Challenge

College students Tiffany Taylor and Leon Chen founded Tiff’s Treats in 1999 and opened their first location on the University of Texas campus within the year. Since that time they’ve expanded to over 18 locations nationwide, with plans to add 3 more stores within the year. The Tiff’s Treats business model is simple: deliver warm, fresh-baked cookies on time.

Taylor and Chen realized their secret ingredient would be technology solution with a sophisticated business logic to meet ever-growing demand in multiple markets. Over time they built a custom point of sale system, online ordering site, and a CMS to quickly update their catalog. As the Tiff’s Treats operation grew, they looked to improve the overall efficiency and experience of the ordering process with new features to support the behaviors and expectations of online buyers.

Clear Launch Solution

Tiff’s Treats needed a seasoned team with C#/ASP.NET experience to maintain and update their online ordering system. They partnered with Clear Launch with the goal of refreshing their order flow, gathering critical insight into customer preferences, conversion metrics, and A/B testing. After conducting a preliminary technical analysis, Clear Launch helped to implement practices to modernize the backend software development process for Tiff’s Treats including source control, application life cycle management tools and application logging.

These changes allowed Clear Launch to efficiently develop an enhanced product menu with a visual tour of the catalog. Additional recommendations were implemented that enhanced site performance and mobile responsiveness. With further development, new features for the site included accurate delivery cost quotes, the selection of multiple delivery destinations, customer review of order history, the creation of easy to use repeat orders, and more.

Clear Launch improved the ordering experience for Tiff’s Treats and continues to work closely with them on additional development improvements, which helps Tiff’s as they expand into new markets nationwide.
